This exciting and vibrantly colored summer styled shoot was inspired by the brand new La Dolce Vita wedding venue located in New Braunfels, TX. The venue itself offers a California feel when you pull up to the large white stucco house with the terracotta tile roof and huge wraparound balcony which is a rare sight in the Texas Hill Country. Surrounded by the shade of huge Texas oak trees, the mix of brightly colored tropical floral and vibrant linens are eye-catching and offer a unique breakaway style to the normally rustic feel of a Texas venue. The owners of this gorgeous venue are actually from California which fit in perfectly with the trending conversation of blending sunny and vibrant California with the rich and rustic tradition of Texas.
Our models were dressed in modern wedding formal wear provided by Celebrations Bridal and Prom which has been a local staple in the New Braunfels community for many years. The bride’s hair and makeup were done by the fabulous artists at Love, Lipstick & Lashes. A talented and experienced glam team is a must when creating a look to beat the Texas heat! Our bride’s necklace and earrings were handmade to match her gorgeous bouquet before our shoot by Cat Haus Rentals & Designs.
Another custom design was provided by The Girl General out of San Antonio. As a full-service-stationary shop, the artists at The Girl General truly put a special touch on every single piece they create. It was an honor to have them on our team for this shoot. Their invitations and menu gave a groovy nod to the free spirit of California.
The classic 4 door, all white & chrome 56′ Chevy Belair getaway car was also provided by Cat Haus Rentals & Designs. This vintage ride has a very special story and has been in Brooke’s family for over thirty years belonging to her grandparents. The very engine of the car was purchased as a 50th wedding anniversary gift to each other and still rides smoother than ever!
Mario with The Flower Guy truly put his heart and soul into creating the most gorgeous display of florals for our shoot. Using a mix of tropical florals and textures, he took special care in creating pieces that would bring the color, theme and feel of summer to our shoot. It was a HOT and long day, but Mario was an expert in keeping the tropical variety fresh and looking fabulous! The tall greenery pieces chosen for the “guest tables” were a fantastic choice that would look great with any bride’s vision. These tall pieces brought the eyes up and really filled in the open gap between the tall ceiling of the outdoor tented venue and the large greenery chandelier that is included with the event space. The ceremony site has a large hexagon arch that Mario filled with lush greenery, florals and palm leaves.

Linens are often taken for granted, but they are crucial to executing a fantastic tablescape. The team from To Have and To Fold are masters of the napkin fold and were able to create a look with the napkins resembling a “bird of paradise” which provided a more interesting look to each place setting. We were all so thrilled with the linens provided by To Have and To Fold and agreed that they complimented the florals chosen by Mario perfectly. Each place setting included a vintage goblet, woven charger, a handcrafted ceramic plate, specialty champagne coupe glass, and modern gold flatware provided by Cat Haus Rentals & Designs.
The Write Girl Studio provided the hand painted bar sign and “bride” and “groom” table name plates.
Our bar became a science lab when Jerry with Southern Tapsters created his smoke infused cocktails and summer time with a spicy kick, Popsicle drink. A colorful, cool drink is ALWAYS needed to beat the Texas heat.
Mike with Southern Gentlemen Entertainment kept the FUN temperature rising by playing all the hits throughout the day! His all white DJ setup was the perfect addition to this styled-shoot and his great energy was even better to keep us laughing and dancing
Jimmy Lyn’s Catering kept us fed and brought the fresh and richly vibrant food display. Tasting as good as it looks, the food from Jimmy Lyn’s is always top notch. They did a fantastic job of creating a spread that would complement our theme and add more color not only to the party, but to our palettes as well!
Our yummy wedding cake was a Cakes by Danielle creation. Cakes by Danielle will accommodate any color, size, style, theme, and flavor always making a bride’s wedding cake uniquely their own!
Newly moved from California, Homestead Photo Booth Co. truly raised the bar on photo booth set ups with their 1969 vintage Dodge van booth. This is not your everyday photo booth! Every photo booth set up they offer is hand crafted and detailed. Alvy and Julie are a dynamic duo and bring flare to a wedding reception staple.
Our team was on cloud nine with Sugar Clouds Cotton Candy cart on site. Savory, organic Pina colada flavored cotton candy was arguably the highlight of the day. It was the perfect bribe to use for our precious flower girl and ring bearer to keep them smiling on a hot Texas spring day. Needless to say, the spun sugar put smiles on everyone’s face. Truly the most delicious cotton candy on the planet!
With every sweet, you need a savory, and we knew guests would savor Ruiz hand rolled cigars. Only using the finest tobacco leaves grown in the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Ecuador; all from Cuban stock. The entire experience Ruiz Cigars & Rollers bring to the table is luxury. Even the tobacco leaves used in their hand rolled cigars have been aged for several years and perfectly blended to bring out a nutty flavor and mild taste that always have guests asking for more. Even non-smokers can appreciate the fine aromas!
This unique and summery styled shoot experience offers such fun inspiration for our future couples. As you can see from the photos, the collaboration of creatives from the West coast and Hill Country is something to be reckoned with.
