Old World, New Love: A Styled Shoot at The Meadowlark Gallery in New Braunfels, TX

In the heart of New Braunfels, tucked within the history-filled walls of The Meadowlark, Garden + Gallery, we celebrated timeless romance with a wedding styled design. One that looked as if it had been painted by Caravaggio himself. This styled shoot was a celebration of all things opulent, old world, and deeply romantic, brought to life by an extraordinary team of Texas Hill Country creatives.

Every inch of the design was steeped in layered storytelling, from the candlelit altar framed by antiquities to the textured tablescape that looked as if it had stepped straight out of a Renaissance still life. CAT HAUS Collective served as the creative heartbeat behind the day, weaving together planning, floral design, rentals, and flat lay detail styling with maximalistic flair. The Goal? Love so classic it deserves a frame.

The Setting

The Meadowlark’s eclectic mix of art and antiques inspired the day, moody portraits, gold-framed oil paintings, and sun-washed plaster walls grounded the romantic color palette in deep reds, faded ochres, and lush greens. Shy Laurel Photography captured the editorial essence with her artistic eye, while Pink Scorpion Wedding Films added movement and meaning through dreamy film and curated content.

The Looks
The “couple” for a day, Jenna Clark and Jacob Reynolds, both wore looks from Celebrations Bridal and Prom that spoke of classic elegance with a contemporary twist. The bride’s look was completed by the soft, romantic glam from Kristy with Made 3 Beauty, while Drew from Monroe’s Salon gave our groom an effortlessly refined finish.

The Details
A tablescape layered with seasonal “Fall colored” fruits, real vintage candelabras, and richly-hued florals created an atmosphere that felt both decadent and intimate. The showstopping cakes by 2TARTS Bakery were placed on antique brass stands among heirloom books and fruit bowls. A Hand-calligraphed invitation from Heart to Home Calligraphy was placed amongst the Flat-lay Details designed by CAT HAUS Collective. An ethereal harp performance by Margarita the Harpist sealed the sensory experience for our ceremony set design. The same location where the CAT HAUS team created a candlelit dream using 75 real brass candlesticks, a mix of antique farmhaus chairs and florals amongst the old world, fine art pieces provided by Lark Mason Gallery.

To elevate the moment, Bar Keep Bros delivered cocktails that looked as good as they tasted, and Hill Country Event Rentals provided beautiful cross-back reception chairs that tied everything together seamlessly. As the models posed, Professional Artist – Pearl Salinas, brought the scene to life in real time with an exquisite live painting – “Love, like art, only gets better with time.”

This shoot wasn’t just about beautiful details. It was about taking inspiration from the past and giving it a fresh heartbeat. For couples drawn to timeless elegance with a modern twist, let this be your inspiration to embrace history while writing your own chapter
