1. What inspired you to pursue this profession?
“I knew from a young age that I wanted to work for myself. I didn’t want to wake up every morning and go to work to make someone else’s dreams come true. So, in 2022, when I felt God calling me to finally start my own business, I ran with it. I knew I wanted this profession for 2 reasons: First, it allowed me to be able to be creative and utilize my talents. Second, I wanted to have a healthier outlet using real and simple ingredients for those of us who have a sweet tooth yet want to indulge with a little less guilt. So, then Baby Bake Cake was born.”
2. WHAT MAKES YOUR BUSINESS UNIQUE COMPARED TO OTHERS IN YOUR FIELD?
“Our business is unique compared to others because we focus on delivering the highest quality achievable, everything from the visuals to taste. Most bakeries (not all, but most) focus more on presentation than anything else, and that normally comes with a compromise on quality and taste. At Baby Bake Cake, we can tell you every single ingredient that is in our products. We use mostly organic ingredients and make everything from scratch! When couples are paying top dollar for their dream wedding cake, they deserve top dollar quality in EVERY category. We can confidently say we deliver the highest quality in visuals, taste, and customer service.”
3. HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR PASSION ALIVE IN THE INDUSTRY?
“This is a pretty simple answer, in my opinion. Most people in the wedding industry can probably relate, and those not in the industry can try to imagine, but this industry is not for the faint of heart. It’s demanding and can be very challenging at times for a variety of reasons, but ultimately, all the hard work pays off. You get to utilize your talents to help bring couples’ dreams to life and help them make memories that they will pass on to their grandchildren. That’s a very special thing that not everyone gets to be a part of.”
4. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO BRIDES AND COUPLES WHEN CHOOSING A WEDDING VENDOR?
“Do your research on vendors. Read reviews, and don’t just pick the first one that comes up. Choose the one that makes you feel the most comfortable, the one you feel will meet all your expectations.”
5. WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS THE KEY TO CREATING A MEMORABLE AND STRESS- FREE WEDDING DAY FOR YOUR CLIENTS?
“As most have heard before, “people will remember you by how you make them feel”. There is something to this saying. Part of the way we ensure a smooth wedding is by being proactive long before the wedding takes place. Communicating with couples about their expectations, letting them know exactly what to expect from the vendor goes a long way in setting the stage for a beautiful and successful wedding, and of course, always a positive attitude.”
6. WHAT STEPS DO YOU TAKE TO MAKE SURE COUPLES FEEL COMFORTABLE AND CONFIDENT IN YOUR SERVICES?
“I ask a lot of questions so we can get a really good idea of the customer’s expectations and then go over each of the details to make sure we have it just right. We also offer digital cake sketches so couples know exactly what they’re getting before they take delivery. I think it’s important to be personable with couples as well. We’re not just in it for the money but also because we’re just as excited as they are. Lastly, reviews are important for us, so of course, I always encourage the customer to read others’ experiences with us. Which you can find on Google.”
7. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT MAKES A WEDDING TRULY UNFORGETTABLE FOR COUPLES, AND HOW DO YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THAT EXPERIENCE?
“A wedding is such a special occasion and ideally, you only do it once. I believe it’s an honor when couples choose us to be a part of their special occasion, and it should be celebrated. Besides the obvious of delivering fantastic service to couples, I think it’s very important to also share in on the joy and happiness that comes with such a big day. Cheering them on and having a big smile will make for a fantastic experience and wonderful memories for years to come!”
8. WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL WHEN WORKING WITH BRIDES AND COUPLES ON THEIR WEDDINGS?
“My ultimate goal is that the customer will know we will exceed expectations to bring their vision to life. What is important to us is delivering excellent customer service and communication. Planning a wedding is already stressful, and we want to be able to take a little bit of that stress off of our couples.“
9. IF YOU COULD GIVE COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE FOR THEIR WEDDING PLANNING JOURNEY, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
“First, don’t settle when it comes to photographers, and make sure you choose the best one that meets your needs. All vendors play a very important role in making all your wedding dreams come true, but ultimately, memories will fade, and the photos are the only things that will last a lifetime, so invest in a great photographer. Second, don’t rush things! When I got married, I was so excited that I rushed myself into finding all of my vendors , and I wish I would have slowed it down a bit and enjoyed the process a little bit more. You only get to do it once, so ENJOY it!“
